The only species that does not particularly fit well with the others--if all found in the same general area, is the NALs. That is, unless you were making searches in or near forest type habitats in the Santa Cruz Mts., similar habitat in Marin County, or similar habitat at mid elevations in the Sierras.
If your searches were in the east Bay and/or in Oak/grassland type habitat, perhaps the species was SALs. If however you did indeed make searches in the Santa Cruz Mts. or in Marin County, did you happen to check the tail lengths of the Contia you observed. JP may be able to clue you in as to the two different species of Sharptails that occur in Calif.
