well, that's weird! Luna just chomped on her berries and when she ate the small cherry tomato it spurted when she bit down. Did he look surprised when it went down whole?

As for distress I would think his stomach acids/enzymes will break it down tho' he may feel like he just ate a whole pizza for awhile! LOL!

Is the fruit thing something natural to Veil Chams? Does anyone know if Jacksons will eat fruit? I have always heard (read) that Jacksons only eat crawlie things. Anyone have any success with fruit/veggies and Jacksons?

Raf
As far as I know Veiled is the only species that eats fruit and veggies - at least of the ones we all commonly keep. Apparently it is an adaptation for survival when the insect population is low/non-existent due to lack of rain in their native Yemen. I am glad that this is the case as it provides some variety and fun on my part!

i don't have the link right now, but when i find it i will post it. grapes are bad for animals, they can cause kidney damage or liver damage, can't remember which. they shouldn't be fed to animals.

Please don't make such a sweeping statement without knowing for sure. Grapes are a STAPLE food for many aviary birds and mammal omnivores...and they live and successfully breed for years without liver or kidney damage from them. Please find out if it is a specific type of grape (such as wine varieties), chemicals that can be found on grapes from certain areas (Central American imports), or if a diet based TOTALLY on grapes is the problem. I have rescue birds who eat them by the pound every week.
