mealworm gutload question - LOL im sorry!!! :-p

aimee_s Nov 10, 2003 09:55 PM

lol sorry guys

i know i asked this... i know about the oats, the baby cereal, the fish flakes, the wheat, the non-fat powdered milk, and the fruit/veggie water sources. but as you may have figured out by my post beLow... i'm breeding mealworms! and i don't have enough to make a gutload for 1000 mealworms and beetles. so, finally getting to my question... was it chicken mash or chick starters that i can use as my gutload? can i use both? coz i posted on craigslist.org askin people to hook it up with some mash or started and some guy emailed me back and said...

"those 2 are different items, you can/could kill a chick using mash, and the anitbiotics in starter will add antibiotics to the chicken."

so which one is it that i should get for mealworms? thanks!

[aimEe]

PS: the mealworms will be fed to my leo & my FBTs~

It's the feed they use for hens that are laying eggs, so it's intentionally loaded with calcium and other good stuff. There are a bunch of different types of mash out there, but laying mash is probably what you want to use.

You are so lucky. Craigslist doesn't have squat for Kansas City.
