Ok, for starters, my local Petco isn't all that bad...they have some decent ppl that work at the store but as with all places like this they're a bit inexperienced in alot of areas.
The young guy I like dealing with that works in the exotics section always takes care of the ppl buying edibles(I buy 20 cricks and he always puts 25-30 in...things like that). He actually seems to take an interest in keeping his area clean and the animals healthy, so I have no probs with the store really..
Tonight I walk in for a few large to toss to my Tokay while my ordered cricks grow a bit. Anyways... as I stroll past the Leo tanks I notice 2 shiny white eggs being laid into the water bowl of the adult cage...there's about 4 or 5 adults in there.
Kinda off the cuff I mention the eggs to this young guy while he's getting my cricks and he became real concerned. We walk over and chat for a minute or so and he seemed a bit down and tells me they don't really have a good way to incubate the eggs in the store if they're fertile and they have never had any luck with hatching any eggs(word to the wise, a tank and a heat lamp is not gonna do it for ya...)
Anyways, long story short, after telling him what I had etc etc. he asked if I could take the eggs on the off chance they are fertile and incubate them. Of course I agreed...which makes me feel alot better and I will try to help out in the future at this store since the ppl there seem rather genuine when it comes to the animals and such.
Eggs anyone?
