Was the rat pre-killed or alive??...just curious because I'm thinking of starting my BP on rats, and I've been feeding him live mice. So i was just wondering if rats were more or a threat.

Once you get a Ball Python started on LIVE prey then it is extremely complicated to get them started on frozen or prekilled. Rats are naturally more aggressive than mice. I have seen a considerable amount of damage to some BP's when trying to eat a rat. But your only other alternative is starve your ball for a good while and then try to feed him the prekilled. Good luck and I hope your ball does well.
