Is that chameleon very brownish because he might be ill or do male veilds normally get that color as they mature?

i would be inclined to say that he is basking in the sun.
he is tilted sideways to absorb the most amount of sun, and also turns a darker color to also absorb more sun.... he is jsut basking.....
Some veileds go through a brownish phase when they are "teenagers"...just before they become sexually mature. I had one huge beautiful male who was basically brown, tan and white at about 8 months. He became a gorgeous blue/green giant, but for a while I really wondered about him.
