Question about the veiled picture at the top of the forum..

Is that chameleon very brownish because he might be ill or do male veilds normally get that color as they mature?

i would be inclined to say that he is basking in the sun.

he is tilted sideways to absorb the most amount of sun, and also turns a darker color to also absorb more sun.... he is jsut basking.....

Some veileds go through a brownish phase when they are "teenagers"...just before they become sexually mature. I had one huge beautiful male who was basically brown, tan and white at about 8 months. He became a gorgeous blue/green giant, but for a while I really wondered about him.
