OT: Happy Veteran's Day!!!

Rob Jenkins Nov 11, 2003 10:12 AM

Of course this has nothing to do with geckos, but it's a very important day for us Americans(and should be for most other countries). I wanted to say thanks to those that are serving, and all those that have come before us. There are a few of us here who are currently doing our part and probably more Leo Forum members who have already served and moved on to do other things. If you know a veteran, thank them for what they've done for you; what they've given you. It wasn't won with protests, speeches or discussions between politicians. Our freedom was won by men and women willing to sacrifice their lives in service to our nation and many other countries of the world. No matter where you stand politically, stand behind our servicemembers; they're doing what they do for you.

"The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill

Hey, happy Veteran's Day to you too!!! My grandfather fought both in Korean and Vietnam war back in the old days. So many casualties.... but thanks to the former soldiers, the allies managed to succeed, and ended the wars peacefully.

Extinction is forever. Endangered means we still have time.

Happy Vets Day to you too, Tim. Wish I were as 'Hooah' as you are.

I second that everyone's support really does mean something. I spend a lot of time in uniform off post all over the NorthEast and almost every time I'm out on the road, someone thanks me for everything 'we' are doing. Although it feels a little awkward sometimes, because I'm not over in the Middle East right now, it still feels good. I accept that thanks for all of 'us'.

Well said brother. I wish I had the talent you have to be a linguist. I also wish I had your geckos and your knowledge in that field, but I'll keep picking your brain.
