well they need plenty of sand as a substrate.I suggest from five to seven inches tall.one can comfortably live in a ten gallon.up to four can live in a 20 galon.Its good to have a damp area of sand in a corner of the bottom.the best way to do this is to take a very thin pvc pipe and trickle water down it about 1-2 times a week.the diet is primarly crickets but they love to have mealworms in beatle form for food if it is availabel.they will need a heat pad and a small heat lamp over the hot side.after a while they get used to seeing people but dont bother them or this will make them more afraid of you.hope this helps
