Pic of albino N. ringneck and sibling

willstill Nov 11, 2003 11:23 AM

Hi all,

Well, these two have settled nicely into their terrarium and seem to be thriving. I have not seem them eat yet, but they are maintaining weight very well. They explore, and bask on this piece of corkbark under an incandescent bulb, regularily. Sorry for the poor pic, but it was tough to get them together without disturbing them too much. Thanks for looking.

Will

Wow,
That is one cool little albino, mine was just like that but 4 times it's size. You haven't seen them eat but they are maintaining their size? Mine that I have now were the same way. They will begin to trust you. I am able to hand feed mine and I am getting ready to set them up for hibernation because of the lack of worms I have.

Where did that come from? I don't get over here to this forum that often but happened to stop in and check it out and I'm glad I did. I love that snake, patternless body and still shows the ring. Is it a W/C or C/B? I've kept a few ringnecks in the past but had very little luck getting them to eat (except when I tried feeding them salamanders) and never put the effort to switch them over to anything else so I just released them. Anyhow, beautiful snake and I hope you can reproduce the albinos and make this a more popular snake to keep. They certainly stay small which some people like. Good luck with him/her, Scott.

So it's a W/C. From my small bit of experience with these (as I've stated in my past post) they would never eat anything but salamanders for me. Others have no problem getting them to eat worms. Worms would be good because you can get worms during the winter from bait stores. Anyway, good luck with that beauty and keep us updated on it's progress. Maybe you can breed it back to it's possible sibling and produce more albinos. Good luck, Scott.

Wow neat looking albino ringneck.I never saw one before.Did you try feeding them guppies?I had one difficult feeder that untill ate earthworms I used to drop a live guppy infront of him.He would chase it as it hoped and would eat it.It was covered in soil by than but that never bothered the snake since it was non fertilizer/chemical soil.
Hope you breed the albino its great looking.
