Just curious, has anyone ever kept a corn in an arboreal-type cage -

inn other words a tall cage with ample climbing ops and basking up high? Are corns as happy in trees as say black ratsnakes?

They LOVE to climb. I only have 4 cornsnakes, but they all climb. Two like to climb more than the other two though.

When she was a baby, my bloodred didn't seem to know that there was a ground to her cage. She spent 90% her time resting on the little ledge running around the top of the aquarium. It was a pain to do anything with her, because when I wanted to get in the cage she would be wedged between the lid and the ledge and opening the cage meant she would crash to the floor if I wasn't able to reach in and catch her in time.

If you get a cornsnake it will definitely appreciate some stuff to climb on, especially if it has extreme climbing tendences, like my bloodred.

My snow LOVES to climb around on the branches and fake plants in the 29 gal I have it in. She's a lot more active in that sense then my anery who just likes to hide out in a warm spot. Guess it just depends on the corn. The snow spends a good portion of the day just climbing around exploring everything...even after she's just eaten.

I guess my corn likes to climb. Twice now I caught him coiled around the wire for the thermometer probe I keep in the tank to get an ideal of the surface temperature over the UTH.
