PALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was neat to see a croc in amongst the caiman(and the largest caiman was actually larger than this croc)......well, I'll dream of these guys until our next trip in April.

I'm working on a database for a fellow downthere who is formulating a study on the acutus in the Southwestern region of CR(ACOSA) as few studies on the crocs of that region apparently have been done....it all seems to focus on the Tarcoles River.

Nice pix, Matt - I'm very envious.

Question, the water in this photo looks turbulent - is that an illusion caused by the shutter speed, or are they hanging out in high current areas?

No, they were fighting over a piece of meat one of the ticos had thrown in there.....yes, this particular group is habituated to people, and Mike, our guide, figures he's probably going to have to relocate the croc to the lagoon on the Pacific side of the peninsula real soon. THe caiman, I guess, could be moved but his only concern really is the crocodile since a) it'll get bigger and b)...it's an American croc, which he is very passionate about.
