Hello,

my JCP from will eary (awsome animal) is about 5 months old, and needs to switch over to f/t. any tips? He won't eat in front of me--i have to leave the live fuzzy in there over night. How should i switch?

the little one. I would originally try to offer it off of tongs since the movement may help the animal to strike and coil the frozen thawed fuzzy. Also, try to do what you are doing now with the live fuzzy. Thaw out the frozen thawed fuzzy and leave it in the enclosure overnight and hope for the best (or in a smaller feeding bag so the snake will find the item easier). I have not seen to many carpets that were hard to change over to frozen thawed food items. If the animal does not take the f/t item I would wait at least a few days and maybe even 5-7 days to offer again. You don't want to stress the animal out by offering food everyday. If the animal is eating more than one item sometimes you can get them started with a live fuzzy and than try to offer a f/t item for the next prey items. Finally, if all else fails try scenting the f/t with a little chicken broth to induce a feed response. Any other ideas out there that I haven't mentioned? Well, keep us posted and I hope something here works for you. Good luck. Frank Kincade.
