Frog Allergies

frogboy310 Nov 11, 2003 08:12 PM

This is just a not fully tested conclusion to my problem about a week back. After I removed some oak leaves I had added to the tank before my frog got sick the frog has now been very healthy as usual. I am concluding that my male azureus must have some type of alergies maybe not to oak leaves but something maybe on or in them. I don't want to further expose him to the leaves to prove this conclusion but I think frogs can have allergies. Note: I dont believe the leaves contained a toxin because my female remained in the tank for more than twice the amount of time as the male did and was unaffected.

This could very well have been gasses form decomposing matter. When you put a leaf in you also put some of everything it touched. You never know what might break down and create gasses.
