Anole acting weird

sobedragonfire Nov 11, 2003 10:01 PM

My anole has been acting weird lately and there isn't another anole in sight, including any reflections. He tends to turns very dark brown and go into an aggressive stance by bobbing his head up and down and showing its dewlap. I know they do this to attract or to show against other anoles, but it does this behavior by itself. My humidity, temperature, and enclosure are normal. Can anyone tells why it does this by itself? Is it stressed if it does its aggressive stance when it's dark brown?

Well, just exactly how is your enclosure? Is this a Green or Brown anole? Anyway, male Brown anoles will just show for the heck of it, and will sometimes show towards humans or other animals, too. It's probably alright, but if the animal seems stressed, it probably is.
