I have two adult Tokays and occasionally feed them meal worms. Some of the worms that the geckos have missed have turned into beatles and multiplied like crazy. I was wondering if it is safe to leave them in the tank, or should I try to remove them.

From time to time I have had the same problem. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I just leave the beetles in I find they eat tokay droppings. But if you dont like the beetles or you find they stress your animals out take them out. To avoid this happening I use a plastic container like an empty creamcheese container and put the meal worms in there. Something they can't climb out of. My Tokays just go down to the container and eat the worms till there are none left.

Thats funny. My Tokays will never eat out of a dish. I've tried over and over to put mealies or supers in a container and my Tokays will hang out above them watching for 2 days before I remove them without ever eating one. They sure find them facinating to watch though. The only way they eat them is to drop them on the substate below them. Silly things.

Yeah that is funny, my Tokays go nuts for them in a container. ITs easy food, they just eat all the worms till there gone and then want more.
