In case that last one was too easy for you, here is a harder one.....

Again, post your answer (guess?) in the message, not in the topic line. I'll give you a clue about this one....I found this AOR and the people along the road spoke spanish....mostly.

I'll guess it's Stenorrhina (freminvillei or degenhardtii)

I'm clueless on this one,

Can I change my answer
I think Erik is correct about it being Geophis.
...maybe Geophis brachycephalus from Costa Rica?

Or Geophis carinosus

Now, did you know that or did you have to look it up?

I found this snake crossing the road to the ruins in Palenque, Chiapas (Mexico) this January. I knew it must be a Geophis, but I certainly had to look it up to determine the species.

who I let access my field info! LOL. Actually, if it makes any difference, I think I found it around 2230, even though I listed all the night's herps as 1800.

I remember you posting that picture awhile back and saying it was from Mexico. And for some strange reason, Geophis stuck in my head all this time. When I saw the picture, the name just popped right up.

So I guess I can say that I knew and didn't have to look it up.
