Regurge help please

luciano69 Nov 12, 2003 01:44 AM

Hi,
I fed my corn (almost 4 feet) two mice 5 days ago, 21 and 26 grams each. After those five days I fed her again a 21 g mouse. Two days later (the 11th), I found a huge poop and that the last mouse I gave her had been regurged (it wasn't that digested, complete mouse).
Could the problem have been that I fed that last mouse too soon after her last meal consisting of two considerable sized preys?
What should I do? How long do I wait before trying to feed her again?
Thanks

Way too much food in a short period. Why are you powerfeeding it?One meal a week or two weeks will work just fine.I would give your snake a couple weeks off from feeding then try just one regular size prey item.If you try to feed to soon it mite regurge again.Corn snakes arent built like burmese pythons and powerfeeding them can cut there life span short...Good Luck..Paul.

I agree with Paul. I feed all my smaller snakes, corns etc once a week and my larger pythons and boas every ten days. If they are in shed or just being picky I make them them wait until the next feeding date. By then they are usually ready to eat. This makes feeding alot easier and less stress on the humans. All my snakes are healthy, and not a single regurge in three years. Just make sure your feeding them appropriatly sized Rodents.
