Hello mates!

Heat Mats... should they be inside or outside of the enclosure?
Stinkys viv. is made from chipBoard with sliding glass doors at tha front.
He has a heat mat at the bottom of the viv. covered with washed playsand, then an inch thick piece of slate (which he never goes near), and a phat branch underneath a 100W bulb for basking. Down the kool end he has a piece of cork Bark for hiding... typical daytime temps this time of year are 95 (hot end), 80 (middle), and around 70-75 (kool end)... i think these seem a bit low... Do i need to make things hotter in there, and if so, how?
We live in an old stone cottage type house, that can get a little on the chilly side, so that doesn't help matters i guess... but he seems happy enough!

Stinky's 2yrs old, and about 18inches long with a good 1.5inch thick tail... any suggestions?

heat mats you only should use if youre house getting colder then 55.
maybe it is in youre case right?
then you can use heatmats r else i would not used them.
try to make the baskingspot 110-105 and cool side round the 80.
you can make a second fixture to put in a second basking bulb ,60-75 watt.
you have any uvb/uva source?
they realy need some good uvb/uva lights like a reptisun 5.0 r a uvheat spotlight
so maybe in the second fixture a uvb/uva spotlight would be nice .
