Ant colonies

Frank_S Nov 12, 2003 11:26 AM

I would like to start an ant colony W/ queen and all. Does anybody here breed their own ants that could give me some info on how to do this. Also a site where they may sell a small colony to get started.. I would like to get a few HL. but I want to make sure I have a food source available at all times and have the colonies up and running well before I acquire them.
Thanks
Frank

Hi Frank,
It would be very difficult to raise enough ants to feed even one HL, unless you have a good population of them already in your backyard. This topic has been discussed a few times on the board here. You might try going back and searching the old archive forum.

Here is a link that talks about keeping Pogo's. (Thanks Snelling)

Good luck to you. Let us know if you have any success!
