2 mali questions

Hepcatmoe Nov 12, 2003 12:39 PM

#1 my uro started to brumate about a month ago when my undertank heater went out. recently i got another one and including the spot light the temp in the basking spot is about 115. but my mali does not seem to want to get active again. she is still spending most of the day sleeping in her hide. how long is she supposed to stay like that?

#2 i have never been able to get her to eat leafy stuff ie spinach, mustard, kollard greens. she loves her frozen vegetables but that is all i can get her to eat. currently her diet consists of: peas, carrots, corn, brocolli, peas, the occasional waxworm, and lima beans. she seemed to be alright eating this or maybe its helping to contribute to her current lethargic state.

thanks in advance.

I know nada about brumation - sorry. However, for the greens, you can try shredding her veggies into little teeny bits for a while to get her used to eating it that way. Then a week or so later, start mixing in shredded greens. Increase the percentage of greens a little at a time. Once your uro is eating it well, you can start leaving it in bigger pieces.

And I would avoid spinach altogether. It's very high in oxilates that bind calcuim.
