just wanted you all to know that I got my stubborn milks to take redbacked salamanders, and was wondering what else people have triedand gotten to work for them, I tried live pinks, frozen thawed, worms, anole tails, and finally salamanders.
they didn't eat for about two months

Believe it or not I once got a whole clutch to take small rosie red minnows. I now tease feed with mouse tails untill they grow large enough to take a small newborn mouse. Usually six to seven weeks. My belief is that if they never imprint on alternative foods they become more robust rodent feeders the rest of their lives. In any case temps aren't as hard to work with as their reputation implies.

wow! rosies! that's impressive!

I would be worried about parasites with red backs! I give my babies that wont take pinks mousetails soaked in egg yolk.
