Captive Bred Garter Snakes in South Florida

Does anyone breed or know anyone who breeds Garter Snakes in the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area? I have a cousin who wants a pet snake, but it cannot eat mice. I think a year old checkered would suit him well. I'll consider any species though. Thanks in advance.
