Dark Stomach On Beardie

khandof Nov 12, 2003 11:50 PM

I was told that a dark stomach is a sign of stress for beardies. I was also told that they show there brightest colors when they're not stressed and their stomachs are white.

To make a long story short, I have a 4 month old beardie with a dark gray stomach. I gave her a warm bath yesterday and her stomach became lighter and she turned a bright orange.

My question is what can I do to help lighten her stomach, and make her show her brightest colors? Everything in my tank is correct. The basking temp is between 100-110, great diet(greens, carrots, rep-cal pellets, and crickets), uvb light, 14 hour days, and I also supplement with calcium and vitamins.

Someone please help what can I be doing wrong?

Thanks In Advance,
Khandof

They get those dark rings on their bellies when they are cold.
