I would be intrested to know what you have your temps and humidity at and the size of your viv??.....I would only ever advice on getting a captive bred chondro from a reputable breeder...Being your first chondro steer clear of imports or farm bred as most do not do well in captivity and usually have many problems,These are best left to the more experienced keepers!!.....are you looking at getting an neonate or adult??
Its best to know as much info on keeping GTPs before you purchase your snake so i would recomend looking at the past forums on www.chondroweb.com and all you need top know concerning the care and maintaince of chondros you will find at greg maxwells own site which i recomend www.finegtps.com you take a look at the captive husbandry section. GOOD LUCK!!

Hey
can you give more info on your setup? Under tank heaters are general no good for arboreal snakes and should only be used under a water bowl to boost humidity. If your using a heat lamp i would suggest atleast a simple thermostat to control tempature and put the heat on one side so you have a gradient (87-85 hot side and 79-80 cool end) so the animal can thermoregulate. Also you should not house 2 snakes together. Another thing to think about is if your getting a neonate they usually do better in small simple enclosures such as a rubbermaid until they get larger. chondroweb listed in the previous post has links to captive breeders and plenty of info
goodluck
