Very nice looking, and i would take a guess that its relatively nice. For you to let it that close to your face, it would have to be. My common is still as calm as the day I got it .... um, lemme rephrase that. When I come near him to pick him up, he wants nothing more than to get away. He won't bite(me, but will bite others), but loves to hiss and whip. Once I get him on my shoulder though, hes as cool as the other side of the pillow. He knows that he will not be harmed up there, since i have been puting him up there since he was a little one. As long as I dont restrain him, hes a pretty chill monitor. Is yours along those lines, better, worse?

Truth
i think he may have whipped me about 4 ot 5 times. he has never attempted to bite anyone. when i go to pet him, he does puff up a bit, a gives a small hiss. once he tongue flicks me however, he relaxes and i can pet him no problem. he certainly doesn't enjoy it, but tolerates it. since he has been free roaming ever since he was big enough to, he is used to people, even when there is a bunch of people over he just does whatever he feels like doing, sometimes he even comes up to us to investigate. i have never restrained him in any way except when i moved into my new house and had to put him in a pillow case... he was pissed at me for few days but got over it. the downside to that is that he won't stand being picked up like yours... well i can pick him up, but he will then just climb down my leg or something and go back to his basking spot after just a few minutes.
