It never fails! In all my clutches, the most colorful of the clutch are always males. Why??

Also does anyone know if there is a way to maximize the chances of more girls, versus boys. It seems like I yield more boys then girls and was wondering if anyone knew why?

Just wondering! Whats everyone else think. Plus what ratios does everyone else tend to hatch (male:female)? Thanks, Lindsay

In leopard geckos, the higher the incubation temp., the more colorful the babies will be. I dont know if it is the same for beardies or not, but some people will incubate their leo eggs for female, and then raise the temp up to where you incubate for males and it increases the color in the females. I'm not even sure if incubation temp. determines sex in beardies but I know that is why males usually have more colors in leos.

With beardies, incubation temp has not shown to influence sex, nor would I think color, but the color thing is just my guess. Chris

i have one kept from last year her name is kianga
she always got those huge bumbs on top of her head looks like kermit the frog

and this is a 6 week old female from this year i not have a name for her and i just sexed her she is so cool she is also the biggest from all

so in my case ,the two nicest beardies where females
maybe i just whas lucky !??!
