Nectar substitutes

4everherpn Nov 13, 2003 01:27 PM

I've heard of using baby food for a nectar substitute. What varieties are good? What do you use?

This is to feed my Phelsuma standingi.

Hey,
For my gold dust I use apricot, and peaches, or a mixture of the two. Both my cresties and my gold dust love it.

Hope this helps

I gave my tokay pear baby food and it got really mad at it. It dipped its nose and licked it off then proceeded to gape its mouth and struggle to get it off its nose. It was hillarious to watch.....he likes bananas though.

My Standings love pear, apricots, apples and several mixtures of them. I've been told that giving bananas or strawberries isn't good for them b/c they contain alot of phosphorus (i think it's phosphorus) which can remove the calcium from the bones of the animal. So I'd stay away from those two.
