Amaranth?

I'd never heard of this until last night, but I was reading the nutrition labels at the whole foods market, and this stuff is loaded with protein and calcium. I think it's used in one of the commercial gutloads, so I'm going to start including it in my gutload recipe.

Do any of you guys use it? Have you eaten it before? Does it taste good?

I believe it is a grain of some sort. I think it was one of the ingredients in the original formulas for the Sandfire Superfoods, but has since been removed. There are much better sources of protien that you can add to your guload, or leos feeding dish for that matter. Isolated whey protien is one. Desiger Whey sells a natual version that is just pure whey protien. This is the main source of protien in the Superfood mixes. I have mentioned before that my new method off supplementing is to add the gutload formula to the bottom of my feeding dishes. I use a very basic guload for the mealie bin, just enough to keep them thriving really. It has worked great this season.
good luck
