is yawning a sign of problem?? or not?

humanvege Nov 13, 2003 03:12 PM

I have a few hatchlings and I noticed 2 of them always yawns. Is this a sign I need to be concerned with? Does yawning mean that they are sleepy and tired (just like in humans)? Does that mean my turtles are not getting enough sleep???

Any information will be helpful. Thank you!

It is normal for reptiles to yawn, but make sure he is yawning not gaping, if they are eating properly and the water temp is sitting at around 78 degrees with a warm dry basking area, chances are there is nothing wrong.
