I was told that you could put the wood in a large garbage bag with a cup filled with bleach. Set the cup in so that it doesn't spill onto the wood. Tie the bag and put it in the sun for 2 days. Then take the wood out and leave it in the sun to air out for 2 additional days. By that time, all parasites etc should be killed and the bleach smell gone. But please do some more research on this, because this is one person that told me this and I have never tried it.
I took some wood that i found in my friends backyard and soaked it in the same solution as i mentioned (reptilucs81) in your skull thread.
1 part bleach to 20-30 parts water in my bathtub for a few hours then took it out and left it sit over night. Then went back and washed it out in regular water then i stuck it in the oven and baked it at 350 degrees to dry it cause i was impatient.
The only problem with baking the wood is it seems to get a bit more fragile. But my snakes love it!
