Spotted Pythons mating

SalS Nov 13, 2003 10:44 PM

Is anyone else that is breeding spotted pythons this year noted any mating activity. I have seen my pair mating at least 3 times in the past month. Is this a little early?

No mating yet, but the fact that my male decided to let himself out of the cage again may have something to do with that. I'll let you know once I find him and get him back in with his female for a while.

Well, I managed to get both animals back the cage and after feeding one last time this past week I found them locked up yesterday. So they have started breeding for the season. I'm hoping things turn out well. They turned out 14 good eggs for their previous owner this past winter, but he lost 12 of them due to an ice storm knocking out his power. Luckily, being in florida, ice storms shouldn't be too much of a worry for me.
