Hey Sin city retics,

you said that you had some Thai Mainlander retics? These are the stock of what Fluffy is i think. And I was wondering, I want to get a retic over 20 ft. and you say your thai is only 15'. Is that the biggest it got? How much were you feeding it? Do you recommend any other retics (Except Sulawesi/Makassar) that can get over 20ft. (Malaysian,Sumatran,Tiger, etc.)???

THanks for the help.

Darryl

hey,

I know there have been about 3 fluffy's so I dont think they were all thais. I could be wrong. Im the wrong person to ask. As for what I feed my tics. Im a powerfeeder(So kill me for it LOL). My tics get a huge variation in there diet. I live near some pretty rural parts of New England. THey never really eat the same thing constantly. I prefer rabbits. Ill stock my freezer with them, but unfortunately due to our winters sometimes we go through droughts. I use G Pigs which I can find alot of in my area and if I need to feed out 8 in one sitting I will. If im really strapped Ill result tochickens grown by a friend of mine.Note: I hate feeding chickens because they go right through retics. As for my 15' thai shes 5yrs old and she still may have some gorwing to do. She may eat when not in breeding 10lb rabbits she even took a 20lb piglet before and if I have enough I'll feed her on a 3-4 day cycle I just weighed her for the first time in a while today she was 77lb and is starting to fill out in terms of muscle tone. Thats usually and indicator in boids their growth is slowing down.

Now,you say you want your own giant, but not a Sulwaesi or Makasar. Well a ambon is a fine choice but, unfortunatelly because those dam rebels in indonesia cant stop blowing stuff up Ambon lacks an airport so we wont see them for a while. Sumatrans are wierd I re-read a paper in between a break I had in classes today(Ill do anything to keep my mind of Plants of the Southwest) by Peter Harlow on Retics in sumatra. Hey says he seeing sexually mature females at 10' so i dont think in my opinion they get that big maybe 16'. Id try ur luck with a Sumatran and powerfeed maybe you can do your own little study and record some data.

Need anymore advice email me
