Heating Vision cages.

Antegy Nov 14, 2003 12:19 AM

Hello all,

Just wondering how any of you who own Vision cages heat them? I have the largest one they make and I'd like to know what approaches others are taking to heating the cages.

Any info is appreciated,
Thanks,
- Mark

I have the same cage. It's almost four feet tall which could potentially be somewhat difficult to heat. Instead of using UTH's I use a 60 watt ceramic heat emitter and a lamp on one end and a 100 watt on the other.

Inside the cage I screwed the bottom of 2 logs to 2 seperate pieces of 1/2 inch plywood and stood them up at opposite ends of the cage. In between the 2 logs I laid a third log horizontally which creates a natural looking basking shelf. It allows my snake a little more exercise than just moving from one end of her cage to the other. Add a few plants, water , and some sort of hide and it's home sweet home.
