Question on problem feeders and brumating...

dasnakeguy Nov 14, 2003 03:28 AM

I have a 03' alterna that is a problem feeder. He has eaten his first meal for me about 3-4 weeks ago but refused all others since then. I heard some breeders will brumate problem feeders and when they come out they will begin feeding. Should I brumate him since it's that time of year anyways? Will he be healthy enough to brumate or should he have eaten more before I brumate. Or do you think he's trying to go into brumation? But his temps has been the same since I got him.

In a true brumation a snake shouldn't lose any weight. In fact, they lose more weight by shedding.
