Help for my Long-Necked Turtle

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advise. I recently was given an Eastern Long-Necked Turtle.
Horatio is only a baby (shell measures 4.5cm). I am concerned about him continually shedding skin.
He is very active and a joy for my daughter and myself. I want to make sure he gets the best treatment. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
