White spots.....Mold?

My broken striped newt had white spots on his nose, they look kind of like mold but they are semetrical like on on the tip and another either side, he also has come white on 2 of his toes. Is this mold? if so how do i treat it? Sorry i don't have any pics, it is hard to take photos of my newt in the water. Thanks
