Flexwatt energy

lbdani Nov 14, 2003 11:07 AM

How does flexwatt compare to other heating systems in terms of electricity used to operate them?

It uses the same electricity..

OK, here you go:

4-inch-wide Flexwatt is 8 watts/ft. If you have 10 feet of it powered (and this could be 5 2ft pieces or whatever totals 10ft) you are using 80 watts of power. That is more than a 60 watt light bulb. A temperature controller reduces the ON time and thus the heater uses less watts/hour.

You pay the electric company for your watts/hour usage. If you have a 1000 watt heater and run it for 1 hr a day, that is the same cost as running a 100 watt heater for 10 hrs per day.

11-inch-wide Flexwatt is 20 watts/ft.
3-inch-wide Flexwatt is 10 watts/ft or something like that.
