Oh man...poop question...

steen Nov 14, 2003 11:42 AM

After her last feeding, I was amazed at how much my bp had grown...but this last time when I went to feed her, she refused her meal. I left her with it for a few hours and returned to find the rat still in her feeding box, a HUGE pile of poop in one corner, and a much much smaller snake. Was she possibly constipated? My problem is this: her poop up to this point was much like bird poop, but bigger...chalky white, but this one looked more like something that had come out of a cat. It was dark brown and a little thicker than usual...and lots of it. Do I need to be concerned or is this normal?? Thanks.

Kristine

From my experience, this seems normal. My ball python initially pooped "like a bird." After it started eating well, the volumn of pooped increased proportionally.

the white chalky stuff is actually it's urine not poo. When my snake took her first crap I was really surprised how big it was too.
