LET'S PLAY A GAME.....

I recently did a study on the venom from the saliva of a baby Northern Ringneck Snake(Diadophis punctatus edwardsii). Anyone want to take a guess at my question? Go ahead and email your answer to Helmz614@aol.com

Question---How long do you think it will take a baby Ringneck snake's saliva/venom to kill a worm?

Email your answer, I'll post the true answer on Monday

I bet the venom didn't kill the worm !!! I kept Lyre snakes and studied envenomation. The venom was used to subdue during swallowing is all. Several lizards (Scelopous) simply ran away with no ill effects.

You studied Lyre Snakes, but did you study Ringnecks? It is not quite venom, it's their saliva. It did kill worms but it takes time.

Venom is saliva. Fangs are teeth. They are just modified forms of the other. Andy
