Kyle's Links and FruitFlies.net

guppygal Nov 14, 2003 02:05 PM

I'd like to give credit where credit is due. I had an uh-oh late last week and ran a little shy on my frogchow. I placed an order with Ed's early Monday morning and 7 hours later, I received an apology, but no explanation, that there would be no flies in Texas on Wednesday. Since I didn't have a whole lot of time to waste (Ed's already did that for me), I went straight to Kyle's links and found FruitFlies.net. I placed an order that ended up being several dollars per unit cheaper and just as good. The flies arrived in excellent condition on Thursday and my froglets were sooooo happy, although they did have some pinheads to munch on while they were waiting.

My thanks to Kyle for his list and to Tuss for his flies!

Even when I am just bored I get on your site and check out all of the cool links to supplies, feeders, breeders etc. By all means add more stuff to it, its a great resource to have!

Thanks a lot I might make it into more over time, right now I am getting ready to start a new job so I will not have as much free time as I have had with this job.

You are complaining that a business got back to you 7 hours later, with a apology?! Most places wouldn't have even done that. Sorry for jumping on you, but Ed's is a great place, and I don’t think that they deserve a complaint like that.

In this day of instant messaging and the neverending quest for customer satisfaction, yes, 7 hours is a bit too much. It meant a day's difference in receiving my frogchow. No - I couldn't afford to have it over-nighted. Ed's does have a great product, but don't you think they might have known sooner that they didn't have any flies avaiable until the following week at the earliest? Had they gotten back to me right away, this post probably would not have appeared at all.

Hi,

They do have it posted on their site that they have no flys. Erin and Dave were sick during the time you mentioned and closed down their buisness. The reason they do not have any flies is because they were to succesfull a NW frogfest. It is not fair to become angry when they made every possible effort to prevent something like what you described from happening, especally when there were so many ways for you to learn about the situation.

No, I wasn't angry - I was more annoyed that by the time I learned of their situation, it was too late to get my flies by Wednesday. And, yes, you are correct - I feel like an idiot - I didn't scroll down far enough to see the message. Erin didn't offer an explanation when I asked about the problem, either. Will this little 'incident' lose them a customer? I sincerely doubt it. As I mentioned before, Ed's has a very good product, but they can't continue to improve unless they get feedback. I certainly wouldn't keep my customers waiting for a solution to their problems, but those type of problems don't usually involve new dart owners and hungry froglets.

My original post was complimenting Kyle on his links page and Fruitflies.net on their competive prices, remember?

I do not recall ever calling you and idiot, I am sorry if you were offended, I did not mean to be offensive, Erin is a friend and I may have over reacted.

I agree that they need feed back and should have taken down their shopping cart for fruit flies, I was also inocnvenienced due to their fly shortage, so my frogs are eating huge numbers of springtails (I keep mostly thumbnails so it is possible this would not work with larger frogs).

I do remember and am sorry, I was responding to the post saying that "in the age of..."

I am not sure how to respond to this, I am no more worthy than you so I have no idea what you are talking about, perhaps clarafication would be in order? I was not angry and I do not belive my post reflects anger. I am sorry if you took it as harsh.

I was not trying to be offensive and I thought that you were not aware of the efforts Erin had made to make sure nothing like this happened.
