Any Guess to what have

cavyscandy Nov 14, 2003 03:21 PM

I have a tiny gecko. No idea what kind. A neighbor freaked out and asked me to get it. something had happened to it. it is tiny and it lost its entire tail, and was flopping around. it is about an inch long and it's tail is now starting to grow a little, it is eating tiny crickets (i guess it is, it is what i have put in there, but i have not even it actually eat. but i am sure is has had to since i have had it about a month. it can walk better now. it is kinda a brownish color. I know that this is of no real help to help me, but if it sounds like a gecko you know of let me know, at least I can start somewhere in my search. There is so many I don't know where to start.

Savanna Monitor, Gecko(?), Iguana, 3 snakes (Gray Banded King, Amazon Tree Boa, Ribbon) Rabbit, Fereet, 5 mice, 5 fish, 2 parakeets, 6 turtles (4 water ?, 2 box) 3 Dogs, 2 cats. And I am sure the next hurt or abandonded (ect.) animal any one we know finds will soon live here too! Plus me, Hubby, our 3 kids, and 4 sisters that are not ours by blood. One BIG happy family

Where do live? Its probably a house gecko, or Hemidactylus species.

I live in Alabama, a small town just north of Montgomery. Would that mean it is or is not likely to be a house gecko? I cannot find care info on a house gecko. I will look some more. Does any one know off hand if I should let it go when it is a bit more stable on its feet, or if it would be better to keep it now. Of course I would like to keep it, and I don't want it killed because it has a "handicap" but I don't want it to die because I keep it. I don't see and pet information is why I am asking.
