i have 2 adult females 3 1/2 feet long and they ate great untill 5weeks ago and now i know that they fast this time of year sometimes up untill april im just wondering what i should be doing to try and get them to eat? i just pickesd up a baby from petco( i know so shoot me) yesterday looks alot like some of the pastels i see on here and thats why i bought it also i got them down to half off. who knows maybee ill get lucky. but anyways he (the baby) ate great an adult mouse and once again i know i should be feeding rats but had none apropiate size in my breeding stock. i guess i need to know if this is normal or should i see a vet or try assist feeding? thanks steve

If you know they fast this time of year why would you want to fight their natural behavior? It sounds to me that you've had them for a while if you know they fast this time of year. If this is their behavior and they start eating again in April, why worry? Are they sick or emaciated? If not, let 'em be.

They will eat when they are ready. If they are not skin and bones, DON'T force or assist feed them. You will probably do more harm than good.

i should have explained more ! i am new to this and i rescued them back in september so i dont know if they will fast forthat long . a girl brought them back to a pet store because they were her brothers an he died in a accident so got them . i was already looking into getting 2 other ones and thats why i was there when she came in . thanks for you replys.
