no cage?

babydoshia Nov 14, 2003 08:50 PM

in a couople monthes i was thinking of geting an iguana. i was going to get a baby and keep it in a tank for a while till it gets too big. i have heard that some people let there iguanas just rome around the house or let them be in there ownroom once they are big. can you do that? or would you have to have a cage that they stay in at night. just wondering. i can have a huge cage for when it gets big but i think it would be cool to let it be free in the "iguana proof" house

thanx

Many igs rree-roam. But first they need to be tamed, and you need a gage or very large glass tank for that. Free roaming igs need basking spots of 95 degrees and an ambient temp no lower than 75 daytime. the corect daytime ambient temp for igs is 82 - 85 with 95 degree basking. rree roamers are generally cooler than is healthy, unless the ig takes up the practice of hanging out around heir badking spots.
