strange behavior

gyke Nov 14, 2003 10:08 PM

Its been a while since I've been on. Recently my male has slowed down on his eating. I rarely see him out of his cave. He was doing fine until the female I have started to get healthier and stonger. She was very sickly when I first got her. Now she has become dominate over him and always steals his food. I tried seperating them to feed him but he still hardly eats anything. Any sugeestions? Thanks.

Thats the way they act, about now, UNLESS he is losing alot of weight, I would hang in there and just see if he is trying to sleep.
Also I remember the first female I put in with my first male, he liked her to say the least, but did not want to eat for awhile, after he saw her.

How long have they been together? And how long has it been since he ate, and was out to bask? Let us know ! I still say if he appears healthy in all other ways, (especially no weight loss) then it sounds like Brumation. Eve

They have been together since July. He hasn't eaten normally for a few weeks. Occasionally he'll eat a cricket or two. He almost never comes out of his cave to bask. Otherwise he does look pretty normal. His color is bright and he looks like he has only lost a little bit of weight. The cage is in the high 80s.
