Toads are doing great. The rowdiest (most active) of the three little ones is getting very fat. I call him "Rambo" because he seems hell-bent on destroying the cage I have him in. He eats like a pig. He looks like an egg with eyeballs. I call the largest one "Orphan" because he was a little thin when he got here. Emma named one of the other small ones "Buca" (?), so I named the other one "Sam", get it? Sam and Buca (Sambuca)? I have a juvie Rococo toad sharing the big tank with Sam-n-Buca. They all seem to get along pretty well. The Rococo seems to like to soak a little more than the Canes if I don't keep the humidity up in the tank, but, other than that, they seem to prefer the same temp regions in the tank. Most of the time, I can find all three of them buried in the same area of the tank.

How to get your wife to like toads; 1.Get a male toad. 2.Get him to hug your wifes wrist (amplexus). 3. Tickle him so he chirps in protest. 4.Say "Awww, he likes you". Note; Make sure he pees first or you may receive bodily harm during this procedure.

Good stuff, Lonny, I'm glad! Anyhow, do Rococo toads live in similar environments as Marines? I think I have toad species confused or something (Alex here is not a toad person )... Anyway, keep me updated on the little guys even when they're not-so-little anymore. I'm really interested in their captivity growth rates, too, don't forget! Thanks

Rococo's and Marines are very similar. Sometimes the only way to tell them apart is the parotoid glands on the Rococo's legs. Rococo's are usually more elaborately patterned, sometimes almost black and white. The only differece I've noticed so far, is, the rococo seems to like the water more. They both inhabit some of the same regions also. I always wondered, that since I've seen Rococo's that look very similar to Marines, if they sometimes hybridize like Americans and Woodhouse's do.

Cool, I'm pretty sure I was confused on what Rococos were exactly. Anyway, keep letting me know about the Marines every so often!
