I heard it a couple years ago, but I still can't help but doubt most of it-maybe I disbelieve rumors too much.

Hello,

This is way of topic but I was looking at the list of snakes you keep and was wondering what you think of your cancun boa. I have been thinking of adding that boa to my collection. How are their temperments, size, feeding habits, etc. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Thanks,
Erin

I actually know nothing about that locale of boa.. It was a gift from my BF that he bought at a show for me while i was away at another show. lol. I know they're supposed to be a smaller locale, and are similar to niquaraguans. He is a gorgeous little guy though. Supposedly only a couple months old. Very pretty rust colored, with reddish orange saddles, and pronounced head cross. Not too common from what I can tell. As for temperment, he's pretty good. Bit hissy when disturbed, but not overly aggressive. But temperment varies from animal to animal.. Where have you seen them for sale? I'm interested in getting him a female.

Rio Bravo reptiles have some for sale right now and has some very interesting information on boas in general and addresses Mexican boas specifically.

LOL yeah well. I'm not the only one.. _I_ did it because I saw others doing it.. Peer pressure and all that, ya know.

Hmmm...

If I included all my cold blooded tetrapods listed by species, my sig would be 27 lines long. If I threw the warm bloods and the fish in there, it would be 37 lines long... I'm tempted but I think it's too much to inflict on people.

I think Rio Bravo has some Can Cuns in stock right now. You might try asking him?

Does it really matter anymore? He has paid his dues and its over with. How simple is that? Your posting this stuff all over as if it were new news. Its from a very long time ago and everyone in the industry knows it.
A handful of very old, but still in business, import businesses started up after Mario went in due to them getting knowledge and working for him.
You can go to ANY wholesale facility in Florida or elsewhere for that matter and not find a cleaner, well maintained facility than his.
He has outdoor cages, indoor cages, hundreds of racks, a special frog room, incubation room, venomous room, non venoums room, outdoor 10x10x8 foot cages(about 8 of them), then a whole row of cages that are 8x5x6 that are outside as well providing his animals with natural sunlight and temperatures.
He has row after row of exotic mammal cages with the healthiest mammals around.
Half of the mammals on the Exotic Hobbyist misc exotic mammal section came from him.
He has the best kept tigers around as well as breeding pairs of Gibbons that have the best food in the world instead of the usual monkey biscuits like everywhere else. They get fresh, fruit and produce twice daily.
His crocodile pens are awesome and have some killer specimens in them.
This is all after every single asset from back and the days was confiscated.
He started from nothing to have what most people dream of. He must be doing something right. If the animals are good, and the selection is there, Zoological Imports has alwasy been the place to buy your pet shop animals or wholesale animals.
He has always been there to provide great animals without the usual BS.
I personally don't care about anyones past as long as I am treated right and get excellent animals.
For all I care, as long as the animals are good, which always have been to the "t",then my business with buying from him is good.
So, so all you know no one in this industry can match his quality for his prices.
You can probably dig up the past on alot of well known breeders, dealers out there and be VERY surprised.

Hey, Im not trying to start an arguement about this or anything, so please dont. I dont have any personal dealings with Mario or Zoological, so I am completely non sided in this aspect. Just wanted to point out that you claimed he "paid his dues". Since when does becoming an informant and getting 88 years off of your sentence count as paying your dues? Sorry nothing to do with snakes, just something that bothered me personally I thought I would point out.
