I watched 20/20 last night, and I was lying in bed, near asleep. But when the story got going I was wide awake. It is something called the Teflon flu. We all have teflon somewhere in our house(pots, pans, carpet jackets), and it is danderous. They have scientist working overtime to get results to find out if teflon is as dangerous as they think. For starters, everyone has teflon in their blood. Small amounts, but they don't know whether or not it is harmful. If you don't cook at very low temps, the teflon starts to break down and is inhaled in your lungs. This can cause the Teflon flu. Flu like symptoms, but not the flu. The scary part is.....IT KILLS BIRDS IMMEDIATY IF INHALED!!!!!!!!!!!! Immediatly. They think it is because birds lungs are very small. This made me think because Roan is in our kitchen, and alls we cook with is teflon. Well not anymore...

Oh yeah, and babies have the highest content in their blood. Why they think? Because of Teflon in our carpets.

I do not mean to scare anyone, and by all means, I am not scientist, but it is worth a closer look and alot of thought. Check out this link, judge for yourself, but it scared me.

I found this out when I did research before geting my African Grey parrot. When I got Marley four years ago I threw away all my teflon cookware and have never used any since then.
