tank too big?

my water dragon is about 12-14'' long, including tail. i just bought a 55 gal from my downstairs neighbor. would that be too big for him?

My dragon is about the same size and I just built a cage which is 7 ft tall, 4 ft wide, and 2 ft deep. This is for a single dragon. This species is arboreal which means they like to climb in the trees. Ive also heard that they have very large home ranges in the wild. Sorry, he/she should have a bigger home.
