Minimum Temps for Ridley's Ratsankes?

kick_baal Nov 15, 2003 12:22 PM

Hi all,

My snake room will average 58-60F in Winter. While this seems perfect for Taiwans & Nams, is it too low for Ridley's? I have 5 babies and as a new "parent" I want the best for them. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

As babies I would feed any of the taeniura species through their first winter.
Ridleyi in paticular dont need to be brumated even as adults as they come from more southern and somewhat tropical areas than the other taeniura. As adults they only need a slight drop of temps at night and a cut back in frequency of feeding for a couple of months or so to get breeding activity started.
If these are all babies I would just keep on caring for them through the winter just as you have since they have hatched.
Hope this helps. Randy Whittington

Thanks Randy! I'll bring them upstairs for the Winter.
