How wet can moss be?

mbmcewen Nov 15, 2003 01:21 PM

I have moss that sits on top of the water outflow pipe in my tank...it is soaking water up into it and is staying wet...not moist or damp....wet. Is this ok?

Thanks,
Matt

I don't think that moss will live much longer. In my experience, moss that is too wet, quickly becomes a nasty mess. If you think you can keep the growth under control, then I would recommend java moss in that area. But be warned...it will grow FAST and quickly take over any wet areas in the viv. Looks nice though.

I would agree with the exception of Java Moss that doesnt seem to care how wet it gets. Atleast ive never seen Java get too wet. Most other mosses to get too water looged and die.
